Global Telecom companies Battle for 5G in India

Big companies such as Samsung, Nokia, Ericsson, Huawei, and Reliance Jio are betting on the launch of 5G soon. In the latest development, Samsung is all geared up for the upcoming 5G launch in India since it has experience of doing the same in South Korea and America.

On the other hand, India’s Reliance Jio intends to take advantage of the situation because it has established a big network for its 4G network all alone.

Coming to the other companies, Ericson is reportedly working with Bharati Airtel and Vodafone Idea to launch 5G services in India.

The Finnish telecom company, Nokia is already working on India’s 5G spectrum. In its Chennai factory, the company has started to make 5G radio equipment’s. The 5G new radio is based on the new 5G standards which will make the network seamless in terms of speed, latency, and congestion control.

Huawei participation on the 5g race is still doubtful due to a deadlock between American and China. The Indian Government is yet to deal with the matter.

Samsung has already launched a 5G smartphone called the Galaxy S10 5G, and with that, it has the first mover advantage of 5G. The company also showcased 5g solution which can be applied in IoT applications, autonomous vehicles, and smart factories.

Government of India intends to raise 6 trillion from the 5G spectrum auction till date. The telecom ministry says that the planned base price of the 5G spectrum is too high.
