HCL Technologies surpasses Wipro to become the third-largest IT services firm in India

HCL Technologies Limitedis now the third-largest IT services firm in India, after overtaking Wipro Limited. The company, headquartered in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, has announced that its revenue reached $8.63 billion in the last financial year, giving it a 10% hike over the previous year. Wipro posted that it earned a rise of 3.8%, totaling its IT services revenues to $8.12 billion in 2018-19.

Last financial year, Wipro was ahead of HCL Technologies as its full-year revenue was $8.06 billion, while HCL Technologies’ revenue was $7.84 billion.

HCL Tech hada net profit of Rs 2,568 crore, as informed by the company. "HCLhas delivered a great performance with double-digit constant currency revenue growth of 11.8 percent, which outperformed the high end of our guidance. We once again, for the third time this year, set a new bookings' record," said C Vijayakumar, President, and CEO at HCL Tech.

The company plans toreach the $10 billion revenue milestone this financial year.It has also launched new products and platforms as it is focusing on strengthening its portfolio in terms of its products and services. The IT firm hopes that it continues on the same trajectory of success, and reaches the top level.

Other tech companies ahead of HCLTare Tata Consultancy Services, which generated 11.4 percent revenue and Infosys, which raises $11.8 billion in 2018-19.
